Reportedly, Chinese smartphone manufacturer OnePlus is gearing up to launch its OnePlus Ace 3 smartphone, set to be marketed as OnePlus 12R in India and other global markets during the initial week of January 2024.
OnePlus has officially stated that the OnePlus 12 series will be unveiled in India and other global markets on January 23, marking the inaugural appearance of the 'R' series outside of India.
As per information from a tipster on Digital Chat Station, the OnePlus Ace 3 is anticipated to debut in China on January 4, 2023. The tipster has disclosed that the forthcoming OnePlus device will boast a metal frame with an enhanced texture and will be equipped with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC, last year's flagship processor.
There are indications that the OnePlus Ace 3 may feature a 6.78-inch AMOLED display with a 120Hz adaptive refresh rate, incorporating LTPO technology for enhanced performance. A report from MySmartPrice suggests that the smartphone could deliver a peak brightness of 4500 nits and support 2160Hz PVM dimming.
According to the same report, the OnePlus Ace 3 is likely to possess an IP54 certification and showcase a circular camera island design on the rear, reminiscent of the design observed in the OnePlus 12.
The OnePlus Ace 3 is expected to be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor, constructed on a 4nm process, potentially paired with LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.0 storage.
It is anticipated that the upcoming OnePlus smartphone will feature a glass body with a metal mid-frame and house a 5,500mAh battery, supporting rapid charging through a 100W fast charger, as reported by Gadgets 360. Additionally, the smartphone is predicted to run on Oxygen OS 14 based on Android 14 in India, while the Chinese variant might operate on Color OS 14.
According to the Gadgets 360 report, the OnePlus Ace 3 may incorporate a 50MP primary camera with optical image stabilization (OIS), an 8MP ultra-wide-angle sensor, and a 16MP front-facing camera to cater to selfie and video calling requirements.
