In the last few days, various testimonies have appeared giving details about Shakira's behaviour in the workplace. Some of them underline her haughty character and lack of empathy with her workers.
The latest is that of Jenni Garcia, a dancer who collaborated with the Colombian singer, who has lamented the artist's treatment of her in an interview with the YouTube channel 'La Saga'.
The dancer was very blunt and insisted that she did not expect this from a world-class artist like Shakira. "I did 12 performances with her and she didn't pay me. I would have worked with her without her paying me, but the way she treated us dancers...," she said. Jenni Garcia then recounted some of the most controversial episodes she had experienced with the Colombian.
"She took me out of the dressing room topless"
Shakira, according to the dancer's version, showed no tact with certain members of her team. "She took me out of my dressing room and I was topless. She also went into our bathroom because hers was broken and the security staff took us out. When she came out she didn't even thank us. I spoke to security to get them to let us in," he said.
Jenni Garcia recounted an uncomfortable situation. "My friend was in a G-string and I was like this while journalists, security and everyone else passed by. That's not respect", the dancer commented.
Jenni Garcia: "I lost respect for Shakira"
The dancer, despite everything, has not hesitated to describe Shakira as a "great artist". However, she has asserted that she has worked with other greats in the music industry and has never experienced this: "She didn't thank us, she turned her face away from us and took us off the stage. Because of a lot of those things, when I met her face to face, I lost respect for her".
