ASUS has introduced the ROG Phone 8 Pro series in India, following its recent unveiling. It features a 6.78-inch Full HD+ AMOLED HDR 1-120Hz LTPO display with a gaming-friendly 165Hz refresh rate, up to 2500 nits peak brightness, and is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC, offering configurations with up to 24GB of RAM.
Sporting a 15% thinner and lighter body with a display showcasing thinner bezels, ASUS emphasizes that it has maintained performance while enhancing the device's premium design and durability.
The phone incorporates a Rapid-Cooling Conductor design, an integral part of the advanced GameCool 8 thermal system that efficiently conducts heat from the processor to the back cover. Additionally, the newly introduced AeroActive Cooler X clip-on cooler is now 29% smaller, boasting 1.2X higher thermal efficiency, thereby reducing the back cover temperature by as much as 26°C.
Featuring a 50 MP main camera with a Sony sensor, a 6-Axis Hybrid Gimbal Stabilizer 3.0, a 13 MP ultrawide camera, and, for the first time, a 32MP 3X telephoto lens with built-in OIS, the ROG Phone 8 Pro also includes a front 32 MP ultrawide selfie camera with an increased field of view from 73° to 90°.
The device introduces the Anime Vision Mini-LED 341-element display, capable of showcasing preset or user-created animations. It also allows users to unlock secret animations by touching their phone back-to-back with another ROG Phone 8 Pro or Pro Edition. ASUS claims it to be the world's first IP68-compliant gaming smartphone, designed to resist dust and water ingress.
Powered by a dual-cell 5,500mAh battery, the phone supports 65W HyperCharge fast charging, allowing for a full charge in just 39 minutes. Additionally, it features 15W Qi wireless charging.
