Cristiano Ronaldo showcased his prolific scoring ability once again, netting his 21st goal of the Saudi Pro League season to help Al Nassr secure a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Al Fateh. The win narrowed the gap to league leaders Al Hilal.
In a closely contested match at the Al Awwal Stadium, Al Fateh posed significant challenges to Al Nassr, particularly after both teams resumed league action following the winter break. However, it was Otavio's goal in the 72nd minute that ultimately sealed the victory for Al Nassr.
Ronaldo opened the scoring in the 17th minute, capitalizing on a clever assist from Otavio and Sultan Al Ghannam's precise pass to slot home with a clinical finish. Despite Al Fateh's equalizer from Salem Al Najdi in the 29th minute, the game seemed destined for a draw until Otavio's decisive contribution, once again assisted by Al Ghannam.
With this important victory, Al Nassr now trails league leaders Al Hilal by just four points. Al Hilal, who have a game in hand, are set to face Al Raed on Sunday.
Ronaldo, who joined Al Nassr in January 2023, is yet to clinch the Saudi Pro League title, but his consistent goal-scoring prowess continues to be a driving force for his team's ambitions in the competition.
