Shortly after announcing the rollout of the new HyperOS on the Xiaomi 13 Pro and Xiaomi Pad 6, Xiaomi revealed that the software would launch in India on February 29. The company promises a "smart ecosystem" with connectivity features for personal devices like smartphones and tablets, as well as for cars and other home products, as stated in a post on X (formerly Twitter).
During the India launch event, the company may unveil the detailed release plan for India or showcase the features of the ROM. This update follows the announcement of the global launch of HyperOS, with the release plan for Xiaomi and Redmi smartphones, tablets, and wearables shared at the event. The update is expected to roll out to eligible devices globally in the first half of 2024.
On X, @XiaomiHyperOS confirmed the global release of the new software on the Xiaomi 13 series, Xiaomi 13T series, Xiaomi 12 series, and Xiaomi 12T series. For Redmi devices, HyperOS will be available on the Redmi Note 13 series and Redmi Note 12 series, as well as on Xiaomi Pad 6 and Redmi Pad SE.
Users of these devices can check for updates by going to the 'Settings' app and tapping once on the MIUI version with mobile data or Wi-Fi active. Xiaomi claims that HyperOS offers optimal performance for devices, cross-device connectivity, and proactive intelligence via neural networks. The open platform provides various UI tweaks such as improved animations, redesigned icons, dynamic lock screens, and more.
Additionally, the company showcased AI features such as AI Portrait (for creating custom photorealistic avatars of users) and AI Expansion (to expand photos and generate backgrounds using AI).
During the global release, the company also demonstrated features like Home Screen+ (enabling drag-and-drop between phone and tablet), shared clipboard (for copying and pasting items across devices), and cross-device image insertion for the Notes app. The ROM also ensures end-to-end security through hardware-level protection.
