Earlier, WhatsApp users had to resort to sharing images in document format if they wanted to maintain high resolution. However, the platform later introduced the ability to share videos and photos in HD quality. Now, the Meta-owned platform is developing a new feature to manage media upload quality.
According to a report by WABetaInfo, WhatsApp is working on a feature that will allow users to share high-quality media by default. With this feature, users will have the option to transmit photos and videos in high quality as the default setting, streamlining the sharing process. This upcoming update aims to provide relief to users who frequently forget to adjust settings for each media upload individually.
"This feature will mark a significant advancement in enhancing the user experience, eliminating the need for manual adjustments before sharing media. With this new option, users can ensure that their images and videos are consistently shared in high quality, maintaining clarity and preserving important details," the report stated.
Meanwhile, WhatsApp has also introduced new text formatting options for its users, including shortcuts for creating bulleted and numbered lists, block quotes, and inline code. These additional formatting options are designed to help users better express themselves and organize their messages.
These new features are available across multiple platforms, including desktop, Android, iOS, and the web version of WhatsApp, catering to the diverse needs of users who utilize the app for various purposes beyond simple chatting.
