The Xiaomi 14 series made its global debut at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2024, showcasing the Xiaomi 14, Xiaomi 14 Pro, and Xiaomi 14 Ultra. However, disappointing news for Indian consumers as Xiaomi confirms that neither the 14 Pro nor the 14 Ultra will be available in the Indian market this year. Instead, Xiaomi plans to launch only the Xiaomi 14 in India.
Despite this setback, initial impressions of the Xiaomi 14 suggest that even the base variant of the series is highly capable. Scheduled for an official launch in India on March 7, most details about the smartphone are already known, except for its price.
While rumors circulate on social media anticipating a price below Rs 60,000, the Xiaomi 14 is expected to be priced slightly higher, likely below Rs 75,000.
Five confirmed specifications about the Xiaomi 14
- Processor and Storage: Powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip, the Xiaomi 14 will offer configurations with up to 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM and up to 1TB of UFS 4.0 storage. Variants with lesser RAM and storage options may also be available.
- Battery: Equipped with a 4,610 mAh battery, the Xiaomi 14 supports 90W wired charging, 50W wireless charging, and 10W reverse wireless charging.
- Operating System: The Xiaomi 14 will debut with HyperOS, set to launch in India on February 29. This marks the first smartphone to come pre-installed with HyperOS in the Indian market, following the Poco X6 Pro.
- Display: Featuring a 6.36-inch LTPO AMOLED display, the Xiaomi 14 offers a 1.5K resolution and a refresh rate of up to 120 Hz. The display also boasts a peak brightness of up to 3,000 nits.
- Camera Setup: The Xiaomi 14 sports a triple camera setup, including a 50-megapixel Hunter 900 sensor with optical image stabilization, a 50-megapixel telephoto camera, and another 50-megapixel sensor with an ultra-wide-angle lens. Additionally, it features a 32-megapixel front-facing camera for selfies.
