Today, Apple unveiled the new 13-inch and 15-inch MacBook Air models featuring the latest M3 chip, marking the end of the line for two previous MacBook models – the 13-inch MacBook Air M1 and 15-inch MacBook Air M2.
The 13-inch MacBook Air M1, introduced with a base price of Rs 92,900, boasted an impressive configuration including an 8-Core CPU, 8-Core GPU, 8GB of unified memory, and 256GB of internal storage. Launched in November 2020, it marked Apple's transition to its proprietary M1 silicon for Mac devices.
Renowned for its extended battery life, the M1 MacBook Air promised up to 18 hours of usage, earning the accolade of "the longest battery life ever on a MacBook Air." The M1 chip also delivered substantial performance improvements, with up to 3.5x faster CPU performance compared to its Intel-powered predecessor.
The 8-core GPU offered 5x faster graphics performance, while the neural engine boasted a remarkable 9x boost in machine learning tasks.
In parallel, Apple bids farewell to the 15-inch MacBook Air M2, launched in June last year starting at Rs 134,900. This model is now succeeded by the M3-powered 15-inch MacBook Air, representing the company's continuous advancement in its laptop lineup.
Following these changes, the MacBook Air lineup now consists of three models – the 13-inch MacBook Air M2, 13-inch MacBook Air M3, and 15-inch MacBook Air M3 – priced at Rs 99,900, Rs 1,14,900, and Rs 1,34,900, respectively.
