On Friday, Ligue 1 leaders Paris Saint-Germain and AS Monaco played to a goalless draw at Stade Louis II, with PSG's forward Kylian Mbappé being substituted at half-time.
Mbappé's early departure from the match occurred shortly after PSG manager Luis Enrique had commented that the team needed to brace themselves for the potential departure of the French star, reportedly set for this summer.
According to ESPN's report earlier this month, Mbappé had communicated his desire to leave PSG upon the expiry of his contract this summer, with ongoing discussions with Real Madrid, who are hopeful of securing his services.
Following Friday's game, Enrique informed reporters that Mbappé's substitution at half-time was not due to injury concerns.
With the draw, PSG's tally reached 55 points, establishing a 12-point lead over second-placed Brest, who will face Le Havre on Sunday. Meanwhile, Monaco, still seeking their first home win of the year, remain in third place with 42 points.
Despite PSG's dominance in possession, Monaco came closest to breaking the deadlock in the first half, with PSG goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma thwarting the hosts' attempts.
In the second half, PSG posed a greater threat, but Bradley Barcola and Vitinha were unable to breach Monaco's goalkeeper Radoslaw Majecki. PSG's next fixture is an away match against Real Sociedad in the second leg of their Champions League round-of-16 clash on Tuesday, where they hold a 2-0 advantage.
